I used to be able to give my house a nice, thorough cleaning in roughly 4 hours. In fact, I'd do it every time we'd have company. I wouldn't let anyone in my house unless everything in every room was just so. Now, clearly I care considerably less. As long as there's no cat barf on the kitchen table* I'm good.
I haven't had 4 uninterrupted hours in this house in nearly 2 years. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go copy my new 90's collection to my mp3 player. If you walk by my house later and think you hear cats screaming, don't worry. It's just me singing.
*Also, I make sure it's not on the kitchen counters. Or on Ace. I have standards, after all.

Honey, I learned about five years ago that housework can wait. In fact, it will always be there, waiting for you. So don't sweat it. It ain't the end of the world. And, chances are, your company won't care either.
you call that cats....I thought it was a dying seal....haha!
I'm pretty anal. I've learned to let some things go...but some things can't. I would start a cleaning service but I'm OCD....wouldn't last.
(by company, I mean folks who come visit, not some workplace) ...
When we went to lunch after church yesterday, I saw a car plastered with Ron Paul stickers. I looked for you, but didn't see you. There's someone else around here voting for him too!
Hey, have you seen this one:

i used to freak out every time company was coming..i would clean for hours and make sure everything was spotless. then one day, i thought, why am i doing this? now i tell my company that if my house is not clean enough for them, they can a) clean it themselves, or b) go stay in the Holiday Inn down the street!
