I got a call earlier from another sister announcing her engagement! WOOHOO! So, one married, one engaged, one hopeless. My brother's 19, so he's not quite ready to be in one of those categories yet.
Also, I think we have Ace's Official First Word. Now, he's been repeating certain sounds for a while now, including certain words. I've been waiting for him to actually see an object and identify it correctly to officially recognize THE first word.
The word should be no surprise to anyone that's visited my house recently. I held up one of his rubber duckies in the bathtub tonight and said "What's this?" He said, between coughs and sneezes and gagging on phlegm, "guck." His speech therapist is going to be tickled to pieces. I know I am. "Guck." Cutest thing EVER.
Of course, a couple of days ago, he might've correctly identified his father with a "dada." We were at Kohl's looking for Drew, and I kept saying "Where's dada," and Ace would respond with "da-da." Ace was facing toward the door and I had turned around, and he started saying "dada, dada, DA DA." I turned around again, and there was Drew. I think that pretty proof positive that he knows who his father is. Thank goodness. No need for Maury after all.

I am sorry, but Ace is the cutest child ever in the history of the universe. If he were my child I would not take him out in public for fear that he would get stolen. Guck is too, too, too cute.
