Meme catch-up: The Homemaking Meme

Homemaking meme snagged from Christina's blog:

Aprons – Yes or No? If Yes, what does your favorite look like?
I only have one, a nice thick one from Williams Sonoma. I hardly ever remember to wear it, and I REALLY should more often. I'd lose fewer shirts that way.

Baking – Favorite thing to bake
Pizzas. I made a BOMB white pizza a couple of weeks ago.

Clothesline – Yes or No?
No. They're actually not allowed in my neighborhood. I'm glad for that, I really don't want to see my neighbor's drawers.

Donuts - have you ever made them?
Sorta. FryDay is a wonderful experimental opportunity.

Every day – One homemaking thing you do every day
Wipe the kitchen counters

Freezer – Do you have a separate deep freeze?
Yep, we had to buy it for the crazy amounts of breast milk I made. Now it's got a few bottles of breast milk left (we use them for Ace's oatmeal), a pork tenderloin, a pound of deer meat, and 2 chicken breasts in it. Hardly worth the electricity.

Garbage Disposal – Yes or No?
YES, for heaven's sake. We're not the Flintstones.

Handbook – What is your favorite homemaking resource?
The Betty Crocker cookbook

Ironing – Love it or hate it? Or hate it but love the results?
Don't do it. The dryer de-wrinkles just fine for me.

Junk drawer – Yes or No? Where is it?
Of course, yes. Where else do you put screws, birthday candles, and Air Wick plug ins?

Kitchen – Color and decorating scheme
Dark blue, with Provence-themed posters.

Love – What is your favorite part of homemaking?
Being in charge of my own house. Knowing I don't have to leave Ace. Knowing that when Ace gets older, I'll be home for him when he gets home from school. Not having to dress up every day. Making supper for my husband who has worked all day.

Mop – Yes or No?
We don't have carpets. I have no choice.

Nylons – Wash by hand or in the washing machine?
Wear once, then throw away.

Oven – Do you use the window or open the oven to check?
Open up. The window's too dark to see the color of whatever's inside cooking.

Pizza – What do you put on yours?
Goat cheese and balsamic onion.

Quiet – What do you do during the day when you get a quiet moment?
Watch TV or check e-mail/blogs/myspace

Recipe card box – Yes or No? What does it look like?
Yes, got it for my bridal shower. It looks like a recipe box.

Style of house – What style is your house?
Regular old brick 'n shingles. Nothing special, but I love it muchly.

Tablecloths and napkins – Yes or No?
Sticking with Christina's answer on this one: Hahahahahahahahahahahaaahahaha hahaha ahaaaahahahahaha

Under the kitchen sink – Organized or toxic wasteland?
As organized as 5 bottles and a box of trash bags can get.

Vacuum – How many times per week?
Pre baby: twice. Post baby: Once a month, if you're lucky. It takes a freakin' hour.

Wash – How many loads of laundry do you do per week?
Hmmm... clothes x 6, linens x 2, towels x 1, rugs x 1. I do way more laundry than a three-person household should need to.

X’s – Do you keep a daily list of things to do that you cross off?
I used to. Now I keep a daily list in my mind of things Ace has allowed me to do.

Yard – Yes or No? Who does what?
I used to do it all, but now Drew does it (in steps) whenever he gets a chance.

Zzz’s – What is your last homemaking task for the day before going to bed?
Wiping kitchen counters
