Y'all, please leave.

I am SO glad that my family and most of my friends are leaving New Orleans. My sister and brother-in-law are leaving, my aunt and cousin are leaving, even my mother-in-law is leaving, most of my friends are either gone or pretty darn safe.

Please don't stay, people. Hurricane parties aren't funny. Hurricanes aren't funny. 7 people have died, and it's stronger now. Please, please, please leave.

Everyone else, please pray. Only God can help us now. There is nothing man has ever done that has made hurricanes any less devastating - only God can change what is inevitably going to happen, so I need people to please pray.

This is going to be another Camille... another Betsy... another Andrew. PLEASE leave. If you need to come here, e-mail me. Don't stay in your house, don't stay in your apartment and don't leave your animals behind.

To the media: I can't stand some of you people. Who freakin' cares that this storm might affect the MTV awards? No, really, who CARES? 7 people have died - does anyone know their names? People have lost their homes, their businesses, their livelihoods - MTV's awards mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Let's gain a little perspective here. JEEZ louise.

To Cristi - big hugs, I understand how you're feeling. I keep wanting to cry... You want the world to stop so you can worry about your family, watch hurricane coverage, call your family to make sure they're safe... but our lives have to keep on trucking. Drew has to go to work tomorrow, I have surgery on Wednesday, I have to mow the lawn today, I have to mop my floors... It all just seems so stupid.

Of course, Tuesday, it's coming here. A guy on TV just said that Katrina could sustain hurricane force up through Tupelo - that's a few hours north of here. We could have tornadoes, flooding, power outages...

Okay, have to stop watching news. Have to go mow the lawn. Please pray, y'all. We need it, the entire Gulf Coast needs it.

Stacey, I left you a message on your cell phone. Is this storm hitting you today or tomorrow? I am praying for you. Please call me and let me know that you two are safe. Love you both!!

PS Megan started school today. I started crying as soon as I walked onto the playground!
