BOOM

My neighbor (who happens to be famous) is having a dead tree cut down in her backyard, and the sound of the chainsaw was immediately fascinating to Ace, which should surprise no one, because my son is all man. "Who's that," he asked, as he pointed in the general direction of our backyard. I told him it was a chainsaw, and he said "What's a chainsaw say?" I made the noise, and 5 seconds later, "what's a chainsaw say?" Thus was my morning.

I dropped him off at school then did some shopping in the Flowood area and came home. Now, every 15 minutes or so, there's this super loud BOOM and then the whole house shakes whenever the tree-cutter-downer-guy drops a big log.

I feel bad for the guy today since we're expecting really, really bad weather. It's already pretty blustery outside and the guy's 40 feet in the air - that's gotta be a butt-clenching job on days like this. I'm clenching my butt, hoping that I can get Ace home before the inevitable tornado warnings start, and I'm not holding on to a dead tree for security.

If you're still giggling about the fact that I said "drops a big log," you are truly one of my friends.

I was gonna say something, too, but you ruined it!! Hate to be the cleanup guy. lotsa baggies. At least when the tornadoes come, there won't be a dead tree flying aroung the neighborhood!

p.s. - More candy!!

I was just starting to think to myself "Self, why has Stacey not lingered on the fact that she said dropped a big log? Because that is pure comedy gold."

As someone in construction, I knew "log" was a tree log and did not get the other reference. I am old.... sigh.

You posted that post just so you could say Dropping big logs! LOL!

AND, I love to watch tree climbers/cutters/falling trees. Its thrilling to me. Hubby can climb trees and cut them down, etc. I love it. I am weird I know this. (my uncle use to do this as his profession & it thrilled me even as a kid)
