Ace in multimedia form

A note.

It is hard to buzz a mohawk into a 2-year-old's head. Harder when the kid has very curly hair.

It is, however, even harder to take a picture. Here's the best I got.

I'm gonna try to do it better tomorrow... I think it looks more military-grade basic-training-do than rock-star mohawk. Still, it was the best I could do on a squirmy toddler who really, really, really wanted to play with the water faucet in our tub.

Also, pre-mohawk, Ace was in rare form. He dazzled me and Drew by singing "Jesus Loves Me," "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," "You Are My Sunshine," and ALL of his ABCs. I'm so glad I got it all recorded.

A couple of days ago, he drank some of my Route 44 Sprite Zero with easy ice and found it rather refreshing. I think that should be a Sonic commercial.

And Paw-Paw makes him giggle.

This kid is so stinking cute.

My niece went home this morning, happy as a little princess. It doesn't look like she's going to be needing the feeding tube - she's bottle-feeding and nursing very well - so hopefully that goes soon. She's so much more content than she was pre-surgery; I guess the hernia and subsequent reflux just made things very uncomfortable for her. She hadn't been given pain medication for some time - several hours at least - before she went home, so she must not be hurting very much. Younguns heal quickly. My sister thanks you all very much for your prayers and support, and thanks God for everything going so well.

My little brother, Seth, prefers to be called "Bubba" by his niece and nephew. For reasons unknown, Ace started calling Seth "Mister Bubba" over the weekend. I do my best to teach him proper Southern "misters" and "misses," but they elude him. While I introduce my neighbor Dean as "Mister Dean," Ace just calls him "Dean." I guess his lesson finally sank in, but with the wrong person.

This morning, when Ace woke up and Drew brought him into our bedroom for family snuggle time, he was so loving and cuddly. He settled in, said "want feet" (which you'll remember means "cover my feet up with the blanket"), then proceeded to lean over to me for kisses, then over to his dad for kisses, then over to me for kisses, then over to his dad...

Drew's bugging me to come watch TV with him, so my warm mommy fuzzies end here. Oh well.
