After many failed attempts at using his canes, Ace picked them up for the first time in a week tonight and took off. He went from the living room to the kitchen.
All for some disgusting freeze-dried green beans.
MY KID IS SO FREAKING AWESOME.
Seriously, before now he'd hold one and walk around the other, keeping it stationary. I gave them to him tonight and he just went. I'm so stoked.

excellent!!!!!!!!!! give that kid some chocolate now! lol!
He is so crazy-cute. I just want to squeeze him.
Does this kid even know the meaning of baby steps??? Way to GO!!!
And I agree with watercolor... give the kid chocolate! Who bribes their kid with green beans? I mean, really??
We DID bribe him with chocolate! He wasn't interested! The green beans, they work!
Love the obligatory flip flop on the floor. LOL
Doesn't look like he'll be using those canes for long - watch him go!
That "Thank you Mama" at the first is killer!!!! OH SO CUTE!!!
I am so thrilled for him!!! He gets around really well for not having used them before.
That kid is freakin' AMAZING!!! Good job Ace. Oh yeah, get rid of those nasty green bean lol.
Go Ace-man!!!!
So cute how he shook his head no.
(*and nice socks, Drew*) =P
i just had to watch that again. ace is so cute!
Fantastic... I am so jealous... GO ACE!!!
Charles is getting lazy on me... but he is starting to do more controlled stoop instead of just plopping on his butt...
I wouldn't dare get charles canes though... he already tries to use mine as a weapon against me...
lol the word verification for this entry is 'makpu'
You rock, Ace! And tell your Mom that the freeze dried green beans are not disgusting!
He doesn't want chocolate?!?!?
Woohoo Ace! That's wonderful!
I was thinking the same thing Sandi! =)
That is so awesome Stacey! Give Ace a big hug and a bowl of green beans from me!
I agree with Heather: The "thank you, Mama" is priceless. Polite AND a cane walker, too. He's great. I might have to get my mom some of those canes!
yee-haw!!!
I watched that like three times. Only y'all's child would bug out for green beans. I like the "no" face but then he kept going part. What happens if he turns up into some sort of fruit and veg nazi like my husband and does stuff like reprimand you for Fry Day? Also watch out once he gets used to it, he will be bookin it.
wwaaahhhooooo! ace...you rock!
That is sooooo GRRRREREEAAATT!! Its been one big leap after then next this past year for the Ace-meister! He is just absolutely amazing, Stacey!!!!
This is awesome!! I loved the text of it!!
