dough!

My stepdad and I did a kitchen appliance exchange - he got our Ron Popeil Showtime Rotisserie ("just set it and forget it!") and I got his Toastmaster Bread and Butter Maker. It's mostly a temporary exchange, although we've not used the rotisserie in probably 2 years, and he said he can't remember when he used his bread maker last. We'll exchange them back when we get tired of them again.

I've since been a little like a dog with a bone. I went to Kroger the day I got it and bought a crazy ton of stuff - dry milk, wheat germ, a bottle of yeast, wheat flakes, etc. I made one white bread, but it's been mostly whole grain, whole wheat breads. I made one gluten-free loaf for my mom, who has gluten sensitivities, but I didn't put enough egg in and jacked it up royally. I'll make another one tomorrow.

So as you can see, I've mostly used my powers for good. Until today.

When they came out of the oven, Drew said "oooooh, sexy." I agree.

On the right: whole wheat bread with oats. Very thick, very dense, filled with fiber and nutrients. I was full halfway through my sandwich. On the left: cinnamon buns. Filled with sugar, butter, and raisins. Dave, I'll join your challenge next week. Maybe.

By the way, the pictures are blurry because I let Ace play with the camera yesterday and I just discovered his greasy little fingerprints all over the lens. Woops.

Next week is fine. Just as long as you keep a note of what your weight was when you began.

Cinnamon rolls are so awesome. We just eat the kind out of the can, and those are pretty great. i can't imagine how good homemade ones are.

PS: Checked out the park--tons of fun! Charlie's too small, but anyone age two or up would have a great time.

Mmmmm! Yum! I could tear those cim-a-nin rolls right up! And is there anything better than warm homemade bread and butter?

PS) I hope you got the check I sent you--I left it up to Andy to get it to you, so for all I know, it either never got sent or it was in some raggety old envelope from his office with everything spelled wrong--haha!

So unfair to post those pics and not share the recipe!!!! Were those as delicious as they looked? My boys would have inhaled those in two bites.

Oh.
My.
Gosh.

I don't want a bread maker. I just want to become Stacey's bestest friend so she'll invite me over! =)
