amazing

The child goes from saying "deh?" for everything, to repeating actual words, to being able to identify a duck, a doggy, a bottle (ba-ba), and now a car. (Probably other things I'm forgetting because I'm really tired, too.)

This kid is impressing the crap out of me. By the way, I'm pointing at a decal on his wall that's got a little cartoon car on it.

We haven't had a lot of success with "frog." I showed him his new frog towel and said "Can you say frog?" and he said something that sounded a bit like "wekobegabekobewakobebeo." I do hear, however, that the Wekobegabekobewakobebeo frog is indigenous to the Chilean Andes valley, so we may be on to something.

I'm a little disappointed. I just KNEW you'd gotten him to say "Ron Paul."

Well he's clearly a genius. Those developmental visits to the ped. used to drive me insane, because I was so tired I could never remember what words Paddy was saying and felt like an idiot when the ped would ask me. So one day before an appointment I took a note pad and every time he said something I wrote it down. Slightly obsessive, but at least I didn't freak out about the number of words he was saying at the next visit.

I think it's because of all of our influence on him at lunch the other day.

Glad to be of service. If you can't use your kids' cuteness to further your own causes, what's the point of having them?

See, you knew he was smart. Next thing you know, he'll be renaming the planets and stars.
