Dr. Paul was on The View yesterday, so natch, I Tivoed it. They'd ask him a question, give him about 5 words, then talk over him and talk at him like he's an idiot.
Whoopi Goldberg acted like she knew the law better than someone who knows the constitution inside and out, and has devoted an entire career to basing laws from the document on which all laws are supposed to be based. Yes, Whoopi, there are actually places in the country where a woman can get a late-term abortion - up till 9 months! - legally, and for no "health" reasons. (Holy cow, I can't even go into the imagined health reasons for aborting a normal child at 8 months.)
Joy Behar seemed shocked - SHOCKED - that he could be a gynecologist and not be pro-choice. It's as if it never occurred to her that as a gynecologist, he saw babies on ultrasounds, watched them being born, helped them be conceived, tried to keep them alive for their entire gestation, watched them born prematurely, watched women light up in delight after finding out they were pregnant, and watched women devastated after losing their babies. Oh, and took an oath to DO NO HARM. That means killin' younguns. And let the man make his point - I know where he's going, and he's gonna blow your mind.
(He was trying hard to ask her at what point she thought abortion should be allowed since she stated vehemently that abortions at 8 months' gestation were murder. People who are pro-choice often say this, but then choose some arbitrary moment before which abortions are a woman's choice, and after which they're murder. Of course, they don't bring people on the show to talk, they bring people on that show to talk AT, so he couldn't finish anything he wanted to say.)
Kate Walsh - nowhere in the Constitution do the words "the government should make everything fair for everyone" appear. Look it up. It's very sad that women would have to travel from Arkansas to "Timbuktu" to get abortions. I mean really, cry me a river. Have you ever thought that traveling from one state to another is, in fact, cheaper than an abortion? What's for rich women now? Really, if you're gonna drop $400 to terminate your child, might as well drop another couple hundred on gas to get there. I know, have the "father" pay for it.
Sherri, Sherri, Sherri. I'm gonna type this really slowly for you. Things predate the Christians, things predate the time of Jesus (unless you're talking about him being part of the triumvirate, which is very nice, but still, Epicurus was on Earth quite a while before Jesus was) and no, the Greeks didn't throw Christians to the lions, especially before Christianity existed. Please, don't talk.
That show makes my dang spleen hurt. I wanna go back to bed. Stupid butt crack of dawn dentist appointment.

The document says we're entitled to the pursuit of happiness, NOT happiness.
Big difference.
Amen doghouse!
Amen Stacey!
I hate The View.
Doghouse -
Actually, the Constitution doesn't say that. The Declaration of Independence, which is not a legal document, does.
I couldn't remember which it was right off (and was too lazy to look it up), so I just put "document" to keep it safe!
Hey, everyone knows you shouldn't let men talk for more than a few seconds! They tend to get uppity! Joking, of course.
I'll keep my fingers off the controversial bits and just say that it's really bad interviewing technique. Big rule of journalism: If you were really that interesting, people would be interviewing you! When someone tunes into an interview with X politician, athlete or celebrity, they're tuning in to hear that person talk NOT the dumbass hosts of the show. That kind of stuff so ticks me off.
Melinda, Good point about the journalism-however none of those gals are journalists. Joy is the only one with a college degree in english(she was a teacher before she decided to be a comedian), Whoopi-comedian/actress, Sherri-comedian/actress. Barbara is the journalist, but she wasn't on there. Sad really, that show used to be good.
Sherri was simply defending the holy and orthodox Catholic faith against her impious and blasphemous Arian co-hosts. Holy Scripture clearly states that Jesus existed before all ages:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.... And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only Son of the Father. John bore witness to Him, and cried, 'This is He of whom I said, "He who comes after me ranks ahead of me because he was before me."'"
And again:
Jesus, knowing all that was to befall him, came forward and said to them, "Whom do you seek?"
They answered him, "Jesus of Nazareth." Jesus said to them, "I AM." Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with them. When he said to them, "I AM," they drew back and fell to the ground.
Throughout the Scriptures, the truth that Jesus is true God, existing from all eternity and without beginning is proclaimed with boldness. This is a truth which led all the bishops of the world to proclaim in the first Ecumenical Council, that held in Nicaea in AD 325:
"And whosoever shall say that there was a time when the Son of God was not, or that before he was begotten he was not, or that he was made of things that were not, or that he is of a different substance or essence [from the Father] or that he is a creature, or subject to change or conversion—all that so say, the Catholic and Apostolic Church anathematizes them."
And again, in a letter to the Church in Alexandria:
"First of all, then, in the presence of our most religious Sovereign Constantine, investigation was made of matters concerning the impiety and transgression of Arius and his adherents; and it was unanimously decreed that he and his impious opinion should be anathematized, together with the blasphemous words and speculations in which he indulged, blaspheming the Son of God, and saying that he is from things that are not, and that before he was begotten he was not, and that there was a time when he was not, and that the Son of God is by his free will capable of vice and virtue; saying also that he is a creature. All these things the holy Synod has anathematized, not even enduring to hear his impious doctrine and madness and blasphemous words."
When Sherri said, "Jesus came first before them", she was merely expounding a truth of the divine and Catholic faith in an attempt to save the souls of her co-hosts and her audience, who had obviously fallen into heresy.
Regarding her comments on the Greeks throwing Christians to the lions, I got nuthin'.
UGH! I have been brooding over this for 2 days now--I just got over being pissed at those stupid cougars for the anti-Catholic rant they went on and now THIS!! With the Catholic thing, it wan't that they didn't like/respect/ whatever the Catholic church--it was that they were spreading such CRAP and calling it fact. People were applauding all of the crap and I was hearing about it from real people within hours. With that issue, I wasn't there to represent myself, but I was really proud of Dr. Paul for keeping his cool--for being calm and rational while the cougars wailed all over him in a drunken tizzy. He was the same smart, honest man I have grown to know and love. Did you see stuff about the other episode where they were talking about Ron Paul when Rosie O'Donnell was still on the View? They were talking about the war? If you haven't seen it, I'll send you the link. I also wanted to ask if you watched the Republican debate on CNN with questions from YouTube users?
:o)
i HATE the view...
A Congressman Named Ron Paul should have responded with "Let us pray the pimp’s prayer. Lord, please pray for the soul of this b***h. And guide my pimp hand and make it strong, Lord. So that she might learn a hoe’s place. Amen."
