dun dun dun...

Ace isn't just sick, he's got the RSV. Nice.

My kid is so miserable. Thankfully, it's not to the point yet where he has to have breathing treatments, but if he's not better within the next 2-3 days, he will. I feel so awful for him. No wonder I stayed inside and hosed everyone with Purell every day last winter.

What is RSV?
Really Serious Virus?

Yikes. What a crappy holiday all around. Hope the little guy starts feeling better soon, and that it doesn't get any worse. And I know you're probably thinking, "If I'd only sanitized everything..." but the reality is that you can only do so much. He's toddler. He's going to touch stuff you haven't cleaned. That doesn't make it your fault!

Being sick at Christmas really sucks!

Poor Ace. I had to google RSV--doesn't look like a fun thing to have. :( I hope he starts feeling better soon.

Oh man Stacey! I hope Ace does get better quickly and doesn't need breathing treatments... they are such a pain!

I will be praying for his speedy recovery from this crap!

** hugs ** to you, Ace and Drew!

RSV is respiratory syncytial virus (try to pronounce THAT), a virus that attacks the upper respiratory system. It's something that usually manifests as a bad cold in non-preemies, but in younger and/or sicker preemies, it's usually a trip to the hospital. I lived in hermitville for most of Ace's first year to avoid it. Since he's all man, though, I've relaxed some since summer.

I'm not blaming myself for him getting it. Sure, if I'd gone all hermit again this season and firehosed everyone with Purell, he probably wouldn't have gotten it, but I kinda hated hermitville.

Just saw the tiniest baby at the restaurant where I ate lunch, had to be a newborn. All I could think was "ARE YOU INSANE?? Take that child home and put her in a bubble!"
