One year ago yesterday, I saw my baby's face with no wires on it for the very first time. His feeding wire had come out a few weeks before, but the oxygen cannula remained. It came off permanently on July 29th. I cried so hard, seeing my baby's face, being able to kiss him without having to avoid a wire, not worrying about his oxygen levels. They even unplugged him from all of the monitors while he was eating and I said to the nurses, "Check me out!" while I spun around in a circle while holding Ace.
I can't explain how awesome it was to have a wireless baby.
I have a Polaroid on a photo holder in the kitchen from July 29th, but here's the picture I posted on my blog a year ago today:

The Borgling's emergence from the maturation chamber is indeed an event to be celebrated. Go Spiehler of Borg!
You'd better keep down the excitement, toots... next thing you know, verizon and at&t will want in on these wireless babies :)
I hope you have heard the Martina McBride song-I Have Been Blessed. It is awesome-and I thought of it when I read your post.
My babies turn 16 today. I remember the fear when I couldn't see them right away-I was at stroke level when they did my section (Gee, 210/180 blood pressure isn't a good thing? WOW) so I had to wait about 16 hours.
I can't imagine what you have been through with Ace; you and your family are often in my prayers.
Every day is a blessing...even with teenagers.
