One of the suppliers for Drew's company is having a crawfish boil today, open to family. That's right, free crawfish. If I, a stay-at-home mom, could tell Drew's company, a major player in the Fortune 500, what to do, I'd tell them to use this supplier forever and ever and ever. I might write them a letter anyway. I do so love Drew's company.
Somehow, over the course of many crawfish boils in my childhood, I became quite adept at peeling a crawfish. I think it's because I went to crawfish boils with other fast peelers. I had to get quick, or I wasn't getting crawfish. My husband, whose mother is a bonafide pedigreed Cajun, is not as fast as I am. Mmm, man, I can eat those suckers all day.
I haven't been to a crawfish boil in over 2 years, and it saddens me to my very core. They have crawfish at the Chinese buffet, but they suck. To be going to a crawfish boil this afternoon that I don't even have to pay for... I am a happy, happy woman.
We're even taking Ace. I've taken him to one picnic-type event before, so I've already broken this ground. It's going to be interesting, since he'll probably want a bottle while we're there. Hmm, new challenge... I wonder if I can feed Ace with one hand while peeling crawfish with the other.
I'm bringing my camera. Ace's first crawfish boil, truly a sacred event.

I have to say I've gone round for round eating crawfish with your husband. He's tenacious, but he's no match for a hungry woman with even the slightly trace of fingernails. Frank and I are both very jealous, as there is no crawfish in the frozen North, not even at the Chinese Buffet. Eat some for us, and take pictures of Ace at his inaugural crawfish boil!
Look at you go, taking Ace all over the place!
