How's Ace?

Ace had his 6-month checkup yesterday. He's in the 50th percentile for height and around the 40th-ish percentile for weight. This, by the way, is for a 6-month-old, not a 3-month-old, which is how old Ace would have been had he been born on time. For those not hip on the lingo, my boy has basically caught up to other kids his age as far as his size. His mental development is around that of a 4-5 month-old (as far as grabbing things, talking, etc.). So he's tall, skinny, and a little slow (but still smarter than your average preemie. So nyah.). Still in the 100th percentile for cuteness though. Due to a scheduling snafu, I have to take him in again next week for his 6-month shots, since they can't be administered until he's actually 6 months old or older. My poor baby.

He's eating solids every day now, and doing quite well. I started with rice cereal once a day, then twice a day, and today, I gave him some prunes for lunch, so hopefully he can do a breakfast-lunch-supper schedule. We'll see how it goes. I think he liked the prunes though.

No really. Despite the utter horror on his face, he ate them right up, no protests at all. Regulation demands that I only give him one new food per three days (to see if he has a reaction to a certain food) so we'll see by the weekend if he likes sweet potatoes.

And now, in the "Could He LOOK More Like His Father" department...

This is Ace 2 weeks ago.

This is Drew, circa 11 months old.

I'm starting to wonder I really was the host of Drew's cloning experiment.
