Picture post!

Ace has been smiling socially for probably about 3 weeks now. When he's in a good mood, he'll smile, coo (actually, it's more like a "goo"), and "AAHH-ahhh" till the cows come home. It is absolutely adorable and often has me and Drew laughing to the point of tears. This smile is photographically unattainable. Each time I train a camera on him, he becomes transfixed with the camera and will not smile. Or, he'll smile so quickly that I can't catch it. So even though I'm making the stupidest noises on the planet to make him smile, I still wind up with 20 pictures that look like this:

You are darn tootin' that's cute, and he looks like a perfect angel. Even though he looks a little like Elvis in those jammies. However, that's not the point. I'm trying to get a picture of him smiling.

Sometimes, if I try really hard, I'll get one of these:

It's getting closer, but not quite what I wanted. And the poor kid looks like a ghost. After all the flashes in his face, I'm sure he can hardly see anymore.

Then, just when I could tell he was on the brink of being fussy, he gave me a few more chances. Unfortunately, I wasn't ready, but I CAUGHT IT! My baby's full, toothless, cheeky smile! Here it is, in full glory, with my camera pointed... well, somewhere else.

Awwwwwwwwwww. I think I'm getting a cold, so I can't eat his cheeks at the moment, but I'm so glad they keep growing back because eating his cheeks is very, very satisfying. GOSH, he's cute. I'll try to get better pictures, I swear. And yes, that's a funky old pillow Ace is laying on. I won't kiss him for fear of germs, but I'll let him lay on a funky old pillow. Awesome.

Ace's Halloween costume didn't fail to get an "awwww" or 20. Even my little brother texted me and used the word "cute," something he doesn't do... ever.

In true Halloween spirit, he looks terrified. To be fair, he was very tired, and probably about to yawn.

Now, I will share one picture of myself. This is probably the most horrifying picture I've ever seen of myself, but hey, if it brings laughs to my blog readers, it's worth it.

I know I haven't posted much (if anything) about the reunion, and for the 3 readers who actually give a crap about my reunion review, I am truly sorry. Let's get together for coffee and gab. I will say this though - I had an absolutely awesome time. Ace was very, very uncooperative all weekend, and barely let me or Drew sleep. By the time Sunday morning rolled around, I was exhausted. We were supposed to have breakfast with my sister and brother-in-law, and I was sitting up cross-legged on the bed, whining about how much I wanted 10 more minutes of sleep. In an over-dramatized showing of my exhaustion, I slumped forward and whined for a few more seconds.

Apparently, I fell asleep in this position.

If that image burns y'all's eyes as much as it burns mine, scroll back up to the picture of my angel smiling.

Too too too too cute. I actually like the half smile picture, I have seen Drew make that face, like "no no smile for you, but you're stupid" look

I have several pictures of my little man in the sleeping in the same position you are in. I have never seen an adult do that. What a hoot!

Ohhhh, he's so adorable! I miss watching his little expressions like crazy. I need to send you the pics I took while I was there. And I'm also quite amazed that you were able to get those cutesey pics...than agian, you probably don't have a delayed-shot crappy camera like I have!

I must say, he's gotta be the most adorable pumpkin I have ever seen!! XXX

And, Oh, my, god! How did you fall asleep in such a weird position! LOL Well, actually, I use to sleep that way too...when I was six.

I love his pics. He is growing so fast, such a long cry from the little man he started out to be. He seems to look alot like his dad, what do you think? Probably not a bad thing, haha. I have fallen asleep in many positions i find funny but when the kids are little you gotta do what you gotta do. Hope halloween was great for you all. We froze up here and ended up taking hailey to the mall to trick or treat after going around the block in 40 degree weather. She was freezing. Maybe it wasnt all american but it was much warmer. Later.

My cousin Melissa (did you ever meet her) actually sleeps like that, btw. Especially if she falls asleep in front of the tv.
I keep coming back because the Ace pictures make me happy. Either my biological clock is ticking, or I am having some weird physiological response to chunky baby. He is so beautiful.
