Geaux Saints!!!

The Atlanta Falcons can eat my boogers. I cried during the second line at the beginning - so symbolic - and again during the Green Day/U2 concert - how random - and again watching the Saints march in to the Superdome. That's one of the most wonderful sights I've ever seen. Seriously, that first touchdown pretty much made me forget my day. I love the Saints. I love the Superdome. I love that New Orleans shut down early to attend this game. I love Saints fans, especially when they're booing Grandpa Morten. I love that this game is the top news story on Yahoo right now. I love New Orleans.

I know a lot of you won't understand why this game, of all Saints games, made me feel so good. It's not that they won (although that helps). It's that the Superdome is a symbol of New Orleans - so much more than the Bourbon Street sign, the fleur-de-lis, the Mardi Gras masks. It's a symbol of New Orleans' economy and strength, and having seen that symbol broken was a serious blow to the morale of New Orleanians. It's back, stronger than ever, and the roof was blown off once again not by wind but by the spirit of New Orleanians. We love our Saints, and we love our Dome. To have them together again after nearly 2 years - it's just a wonderful thing.

I gotta go before I get all happy weepy. GEAUX SAINTS!!!!

Can we talk the game? I mean, it's huge what they did! Remember the last time Vick was in the Dome, he ran wild! Now, he ran for his life. This was also the biggest home win over the Falcons since Bobby Hebert was QB!

This almost makes up for that 62-7 drubbing the Dirty Birds put on us in the 70's. But not quite.

You know the G if it is followed by e makes it a soft G...like géant...like indulgent...the proper spelling from a phonetic point of view would be Gaux Saints but people do not like that. Oh well. I guess I am being self-righteous :(

You are correct, however dem Cajuns kind of put their own twist on things. Mais Ya!

Yeah, Cajun French is a whole other animal, created before there was a formal French lexicon with spelling rules and all that. A Cajun once explained to me that Cajun French was kind of a backwards French.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find the idea of Sparky losing his voice Hilarious?

Dave is right, it was an incredible game. Blocked punts are nearly unheard of, much less when they lead to a touchdown. I screamed just like a little girl when it happened.

Get it out of your system now, because the E-A-G-L-E-S-Eagles are comin' to town to rain on your parade. They're the Birds you better be worried about.
