A laugh a minute

I've laughed so much since Wednesday that last night, I noticed my lower lip had a tiny little crack in it. Owie, but totally worth the past few days.

Thanksgiving was awesome. Rob was here, and my mom, stepdad and grandmother came up for the day. We decided to fry the turkey and my word, was it ever amazing. I dare say, it was the perfect turkey. The only other turkey that's ever come this close was the one that Billy rotisseried Thanksgiving '03. But this one was goooooood. Spending time with my family and Rob and getting to be the rockin' hostess I know I am was pretty sweet, too.

Having extended custody of my stepdad's fryer gave birth to the idea of what else we could fry. Thursday night, Rob and I ventured out to Wal-Mart to wander the aisles in search of things whose wonderous qualities could only be made that much better with batter and hot oil.

The next day, after convincing Dave to come join us with a hearty "come onnnnnnn!", Fry-day was on. Corn dogs, french fries, chips, fried snickers bars, fried oreos, fried apples, fried biscuits, fried pickles, and probably something else I'm forgetting. WOW. That's a lot of oil, kids. We had so much fun doing it though, frying everything to an awesome golden brown. And none of us burned ourselves. By the time we got to the pickles, we had already had a hearty sample of each of our dishes, and we were seriously full and we all smelled like McDonald's. We watched Pulp Fiction, talked for about 4 hours, and Dave went home. Best Fry-day ever.

The rest of the weekend has been pretty much a complete waste of time. We watched a lot of TV, ate a lot of leftovers, played a lot of trivia, and laughed a whole, whole lot. I've had one of the most fun weekends I've had in a while.

I hope everyone else's Thanksgiving was as great as my own. I wish I could do it again tomorrow, but I've had just about enough with the rich foods. I think I'll eat a lot of celery this week. Bland food good.

Pictures!
