Since I live in a subdivision that's easy pickins for any solicitation, I've gotten a few salesmen. They have mostly been kids selling candy, Entertainment books, yada yada for schools, but I've also had two instances of missionaries from the LDS church. I'm fine with that. I find it of paramount importance to win souls to Christ, and thus of equal importance to spread the Gospel. I couldn't care less which church someone joins, or even if that someone joins any church, as long as that person is going to Heaven. I don't care what rules you follow, what saints you talk to, what prophets you believe in, so long as you know in your heart that Jesus, God in the flesh, died on the cross to pay the ultimate price for the sins of mankind. (Thank you, Jesus. I so didn't deserve that.)
Today, I got two incredibly nice boys from the LDS church a-knockin' at my door. I do not dread their visits. They're always incredibly nice, and I know that their work is important. It's just that I know that although I make it quite clear that I am a Christian, they simply want me to join the LDS church. I do not want to join the LDS church. AGAIN, I do not doubt their salvation in any way. I simply know that the denomination is not the right one for me.
How do I let them know that when they come by again on Sunday at 6? I'm a sucker for missionaries. What can I say. I've even been invited to their church on Sunday. Don't think I'll go.
No hate from the Mormons on my comments. I have nothing against your church, I just don't want to join. Thank you in advance for your discretion.

I love being LDS - it's really not a bad thing. A little hard, perhaps, but definitely not bad :)And the rewards are SO worth it!
Love,

I have the same problem as you: I love Mormons. I'm just not. I SO know how you feel.
Love Mormons. I do.
Well said. The Mormons have just built a huge regional temple a few blocks from our house so we have had visits from two young, polite gentlemen as well. As I'm polite too, for the same reasons you voiced.
However, I was soooooo tempted to throw out comedian Emo Phillips' line about Jeopardy superstar and Mormon Ken Jennings. "If he's so smart, then why isn't he a member of a religion less easy to disprove?" If you know what Mormons believe as their faith, you understand the joke.
