Thanks, Seth.

My baby brother has issued me the following challenge:

Alanna: Seth doesn't believe you've gone vegetarian.
Me: I figure most people won't believe me.
Alanna: Why vegetarian anyway?
Stacey: It's not wrong for people to eat meat, but the animal torture that has resulted from this country's mass consumerism is definitely wrong. I'd probably eat something Seth killed, but nothing that's been stuck in a cage it's entire life.
Alanna: Seth says it won't last and you've been hanging out with Veronica too much lately.

Since sometimes I do things just to tick my little brother off, I've decided to make this vegetarianism a longer lasting thing. I've been going about 3 weeks strong. See, my little brother runs screaming in terror from anything requiring the slightest modicum of discipline and/or self-restraint and assumes others are the same way. Well, I ain't. I've been considering vegetarianism for about 3 years, and just decided to go with it, what the heck.

Besides, my little brother being annoyed by it is just the icing on the cake. I LOVE being a big sister.

One more funny tidbit from the conversation with Alanna:

Alanna: I don't like the animal torture and stuff, but I couldn't give up eating meat.
Stacey: I could show you a few websites that might make you change your mind.
Alanna: Please don't.

I guess ign'ance is bliss.

i was vegetarian in the US for three years until i came to france and found a butcher i trust.
i am for eating meat as long as they weren't skinned alive and kept in little chicken cages etc.
you can do it. but it involves lots of cheese and tuna.
