Several months ago, Drew said that he didn't want to see Revenge of the Sith the same night it came out. Tuesday, he completely changed his mind and booked tickets for us to go tonight. Last night, he wanted to go to a midnight showing. My boy was excited all day. He even clapped giddily as the opening credits came on. I couldn't believe it.
Yesterday, I realized that I would be watching a Star Wars movie while the season finale of The O.C. showed. In case you don't know me, I must be one of 5 24-year-olds who can NOT get enough of that show. Last night, Drew says "You'd better make sure you Tivo it." I said "Oh, you can bet your sweet bippy I will." Tonight, after a treacherous day at one of those fill-in-the-seat jobs, I came home and had a conversation with a friend in need. We set out to the theater, hubby all a-twitter, and as we're walking out the door, he says "Did you remember to set the DVR to record The O.C.?" I nearly fell on my face turning around to march right back inside, when Drew said "HA! I did."
That's love, folks. Ladies, you deserve a man who will not only know your favorite show, but remember to DVR it when you're too self-absorbed to remember AND he's giddy as a schoolgirl over the nerdvent of the century.
Of course, he later told me his most devious plan to wait until the middle of Revenge of the Sith to reveal his gesture, but I still feel loved.
You'll notice he's revived the asterisk. I know your password, boy.
