All the Southern homeowners with gardens and lawns say hooo....

...LY CRAP IS IT HOT OUTSIDE.

Don't get me wrong, I lovelovelove that it's hot outside, but wowza. It's seriously hot. I spent yesterday morning mowing, weedwhacking, and edging our front yard. I spent a few hours this afternoon edging our back patio, moving some pots around, installing some tiki torches, and weeding the front garden. Edging with a manual edger is hard work, kids. My backyard and patio look pretty fly, and my front garden is almost completely weedless. I say "almost" because Mississippi red clay doesn't let go of roots easily. My back, shoulders, forearms, and legs hurt.

Yeah, I'm a homeowner. And I love it. I love every minute of it. I am ridiculously thankful for my beautiful house, my garden, my backyard, my front yard, my trees, my fence, my grass, and so many other things.
