Yet here I sit...

I'm so completely overwhelmed by the state of my house right now that I can't even begin cleaning it. Every single room is a toe up mess. I get these little bursts of energy and start tackling the hell, but then I realize how much of it there is and I get depressed and I sit down and start watching The Soup. I think I'm almost to the point that I'd like to burn my house down and start over again. I promise I'll save the cats.

We have guests coming on Saturday. Guests that are kinda important to our future. Ace is home today because of an ear infection and my allergies, which manifest in a killer headache and the inability to breathe, ARE KILLING ME. I'm volunteering at Ace's school tomorrow. He has Fridays off. If you've ever had a toddler, you know that it's really quite hard to clean around them. I have no idea what I'm going to do.

I used to have the cleanest house for miles. I used to have a calendar detailing what I was supposed to clean on what days. I could get my house sparkling clean in a matter of 4 hours. Now, I don't think I could get my guest bathroom sparkling clean in 4 hours. I'm so, so overwhelmed.

I'm gonna go have another glass of whiiiiine, take some Benadryl, and try to make my kitchen, living room, and guest bathroom look REALLY good. If those are at least done, I can face guests. If they want to go into any other room in the house, they may or may not an atomic elbow to the back of the head, our future be damned.

I so feel your pain. toe up mess huh? good description for my place too.

I find that if I require myself to finish one task at a time it's easier. Yesterday and today is devoted soley to the junkmail/bills and laundry. I'll clean in a couple days. lol

I hate when I let mine get that way. It's well on its way now if I don't get up and do something about it. I plan on cleaning mostly today and preparing some patterns. grrrr.

Clean in spurts so you don't lose energy. You know 15-30 mins of cleaning, take a small 5 min break. It sometimes helps. But, I am one to start and not be able to stop then I am EXHAUSTED!!

Off to start in the laundry room then the kitchen.

I understand about the house, from both sides of it. Hope you get to feeling better, and that you get at least the important parts of the house to your liking.

Have you tried Zyrtec? The generic is available over the counter. Fantastic stuff for allergies. Take it at night and it lasts 24 hours.

I LURV Zyrtec, too.

Hmmm...a cleaning calendar...I really need that, sigh.

Zyrtec and Benadryl both turn me into a zombie.

Hire a maid.

Just this once.
