Please please please please please sign this!!!!

If you're a Mississippi voter, please take a good look at this petition then sign it. Or don't look at it and sign it anyway. Either way, SIGN IT.

One of our state senators is introducing a bill in the 2009 session that would grant a $500 tax credit to parents of children with disabilities, and hopefully this petition will help that bill pass. Do y'all know how much that would help... no, seriously, do you know how much that would help?

Please, y'all, do me this solid. It takes no time at all. Drew and I are extremely blessed and don't experience much financial hardship, but I've seen a lot of people who've experienced extreme financial fallout because of the cost of their child's disability and they could really use this extra money. Please please sign this petition.

Don't make me beg.

Also, um, linking other people to this post wouldn't hurt... THANK YOU ALL.

You can do more than sign a petition. We can contact your representatives and senators and go to the capitol and lobby for this cause. It only takes 2 contacts for an issue to be considered urgent. So many people do not think they have a voice in politics but are elected officials are our voice and they do listen!!!!!

Stacy this bill is going to be introduced. A petition is not necessary, but if it makes you feel good, go for it.

What each of you need to do is to contact your Senator and your Representative and talk to them about the issue. If possible, try to get a commitment from them to co-sponsor a bill, and/or vote for the bill.

The bill will go to Finance in the Senate which is chaired by Senator Dean Kirby who is your Senator.

In the House it will go to Ways and Means. John Moore and Ray Rogers serve on that committee.

If you wish to discuss this further, leave me an email at Oldbopper@yahoo.com with your phone number and I will be glad to speak with you about it.
