Sorry I haven't said much about the trip. The reunion was really one of the most surreal experiences of my life - I can't believe that none of these people aged a day. Some of the guys had a little less hair, and a few people (yours truly included) had a few more pounds, but their faces were exactly the same.
Maybe I've been reading too much Twilight.
You can look at all the pictures here, but I'll start with the piece de resistance - my foxy self and my freakin' gorgeous husband.
We make this look GOOD, people. (You'll notice, if you look at the rest of the pictures, that Drew slowly shed pieces of clothing. His tie was the first casualty, then his jacket went down.)
On the far left of this picture, you'll see a guy whose last name is Justice. It was nice to see him and talk to him, until a few minutes into our conversation, when I asked what he'd been up to. I could barely stifle a chortle when he said "I'm a deputy." Sheriff... Justice? "No, you can laugh, it's funny." A few minutes later, I called him a tool, and I kinda feel bad about it. I backtracked and explained though - he sat behind me in one of our classes and was really mean to me at first, then started being really nice and we got into a lot of trouble together. Mostly him kicking my chair and making it shake, and me giggling. I took the fall a lot of the time.
I can't believe how much the guy in the middle of this picture looks like David Tennant from Doctor Who. I mean, same glasses, same jacket, same hair, everything.
Since David Tennant is still infinitely hotter than Phil Hooper, I'll post a picture of him.
Here's me with my high school BFF, Nicki.
We were inseparable for nearly 10 years, then I moved and we basically lost touch. She got married, I got married, she got divorced, she had a kid (who is straight up beautiful), I had a kid, she got re-married, yada yada yada. Still, she helped me through a lot of bad stuff and we still keep in touch every once in a while. Drew and I went out with her and her husband after the reunion and I have not laughed that hard in a VERY long time. I forgot how funny she was and her husband just complements her humor perfectly. I miss that girl. She married another dude, Shaun, from our graduating class who could not possibly look more different than he did when we graduated. He's a good foot taller and probably 50 pounds heavier. I did a double take with that guy.
The girl on the left in this picture actually beat me up in 7th grade. I'll forgive her if she'll help me name some of the people in the pictures!!!
I could take her now.
If you actually looked at the pictures, you'll see a lot of the same people. There were really not a whole lot of graduates there, and I had a hard time interrupting conversations so I could get pictures. Still, I got pictures of everyone I wanted to get pictures of. I really had good memories about everyone. It was an incredibly fun night.
Here's my gorgeous baby niece, Betlee, who looks like she's deep in thought but is really attempting teleportation of her cousin's cookie:
And my hilarious nephew, Preston, who smiled the biggest smile ever if you so much as looked in his direction:
Here's the best picture ever of me, Drew, and Ace right after Thanksgiving lunch:
And here lies Hooker Mellen.
I'm not waiting 3 years to go back to Indiana. I realized during this trip that I genuinely miss it there, and I miss my family and I miss my high school friends. No way will I ever move back, but I still miss it. Weird realization.
