The group that Ace's speech therapist belongs to is, in a nutshell, canceling their contract with the state's therapy program, First Steps. I could continue to see her privately or stay with First Steps and go with another group, or I could cancel speech therapy all together.
Not sure what to do. I'm fairly confident in Ace's vocabulary and speech at this point. He repeats everything and remembers darn near everything. He uses commands (up, down, more, please, no, okay) and says "please" and "thank you," and he says "good morning" when I go get him up, so he's definitely communicating. While I do know he's behind other 22-month-olds, I don't think he's THAT far behind.
Then again, his speech therapist did seem to think it'd be best to continue therapy, and I trust her judgment. She's not the kind of person who would just be coming for the money - I am very confident in her abilities.
...
Funny enough, as I was typing the above paragraph, she called me. She said that while she thought it'd be best to continue to get evaluations done every 6 months or so (I tend to agree), she thinks it'd be okay to discontinue weekly therapy.
Done! Now if he could just kick that physical therapy habit...

Um, my sister's twins are about to be two and they don't say as much as Ace so I think you're fine.
Judging by the speech issues you discussed in an earlier post ("donkey s**t, etc.), I'm not sure therapy can overcome genetics!
;)
ummm...he said, 'hey baby' and laid a big, juicy kiss on me... ;)

i think he's just fine! :P
atta boy Ace!!
If she thinks he'll be fine, that's great news. I've only met Ace in person two or three times, but he seems like a really smart kid. Adorable, and smart too.
Excellent news!!
I've seen kids much further behind than he is.....He's doing fine!
