My little boy...

...is so doggone adorable.

We went to the River Oaks NICU reunion today. It wasn't really what I expected - I was thinking they'd have some sort of name tag thing, like "Hi, my name is Ace, I did time from June-August 2006." I also expected some nurses to be there, but nope. I did see the doctor that discharged him, but I didn't think Ace would want to see him because that's also the doctor that snipped his tallywacker.

I got a little teary eyed when we got there. The kids there are hard core, bad-a** survivors. The parents there have all known extreme, heart-wrenching pain, but now they're hanging out at a party to honor their kids. I got all vaklempt. Talk amongst yourselves.

As you can see, his face was painted, and he won a few junk prizes for playing games. Unfortunately, since I'm a goober, I forgot my camera, but I did remember my camera PHONE, and caught the following priceless moment:

Yes, in fact, that is my precious first-born being held by Darth Vader. Why do you ask?

I added almost 2 pages of pictures to Drew's flickr account, including Ace as a fireman, Ace's wingman, and Ace being hard core gangsta.

Sorry. I had to come back to see that face. Now, I realize that he looks like he's calling upon the force to free himself from the grip of the evil Darth Vader.

I have several Darth Vader comments I could make, but I will refrain.
