There are days...

There are days that I love my baby and simply cannot get enough of him. Days that I just want to hug him and tickle him and play with him and listen to him laugh. Days that I think he sincerely enjoys my company as well and can't get enough of me.

Then... well, then there are days that I can't wait for naptime/Drew to get home from work/bedtime. Tonight is in this category. The kid is FUSSY tonight - everything we do sets him off into a complete fit of RAGE. Drew's giving him an exorcism a bath right now, unintentionally playing good cop (Ace loves baths) to my bad cop (Ace hates peas and I totally made him eat them tonight because THEY ARE GOOD FOR YOU, FULL OF FIBER!! AND YOU'LL HAVE TO EAT SOMETHING OTHER THAN SWEET POTATOES AT SOME POINT IN YOUR LIFE).

At least he still does things like this to remind me that he is, in fact, my child and not some strange evil Ace-bot:

Also? He's working on saying "mama." He'd better hop to it.

You so make me look forward to having kids. Really. I giggled at this because I've seen it so many times with my godson and other borrowed-babies. But then you look at those blue eyes and know why you're so in luuuv with the little one. Greg and I already fight over our dog, as in, "That's your dog. Not my dog. I don't claim him." I can easily see us doing that with a fussy baby!

Ha ha ha! Yup! As, usual, I know what you mean! I have a two year old and there's a bit of toddler-schitzophrenia going on here several days a week (more like several minutes a day!) Sometimes Mama gets sick of playing bad cop all the time and just picks a fight with daddy-good-cop...it's REAAALLLLY fun as you can imagine! (You HAVE to let me in on your crossing-out-a-word trick--I always do that when I handwrite and I am dying to steal this one---mooohahahaha!) (no pressure, of course!) (none....really...)

Susan - all I gotta say about that is, God knew what he was doing when he made babies so unbearably cute. Especially when they're sleeping. All of their offenses from that day and every other day and every day in the future melt away when you see them sleeping, or when they laugh (except when they're laughing at your meager attempt to be stern).

Jennifer - put < strike > before and < / strike > after whatever you wanna cross out, without all the spacing. Voila!

Yeah, I can't stay mad at little people, I tend to start laughing at inappropriate times. But if I ever do have one, I have to do it in secret to avoid revenge from my friends. I was always the "teach them bad habits and give them back" friend. Like when I showed Edwin that anything you put on your head can be called a hat. Like a block, or a book, or a plate of spaghetti... Yeah, I got a phone call for that one.
