My sweetie has celebrated his 11 month birthday in style today, man.
He woke up at 8:40 and, as usual, started talking to himself. I came into the computer room to check my e-mail and wait for his chattering to become a little more insistent. It didn't. Silence. He started babbling again at around 9:30, and again I waited. Silence. He started babbling again at around 10, at which point I decided to jump in the shower, thinking surely he'd be ready for breakfast by the time I got out. I got out - silence. Dried my hair, got dressed, silence. Got back on the computer, thinking any minute now he'd wake up hollering because he'd be hungry. Any minute now turned into 11:30, when I said enough is enough and went and got his lazy butt up. My kid slept till 11:30. Unreal.
His Granny called shortly thereafter and invited me and Ace to Cracker Barrel, where Ace mowed down some grits like a good Southern boy:
He said they needed salt and butter, but otherwise, he liked them.
We came home and he had a mighty feast of pears, squash, and yogurt. None of which needed salt or butter.
My baby's 11 months old today. He's so wonderful, and I love him so much. I can't help but brag on him whenever someone says what a big boy he is. He's just such a sweet angel, it's hard to believe he's mine. One more month till I'm the mother of a 1-year-old! WHOA, dude.
Although he didn't do this today, I thought I'd be doing the world an injustice if I didn't post this video. He gets such a serious look on his face during his "dadada" performance, it's just too freakin' cute for words. *Edit* Well, crud... I don't know why the video's so patchy. Oh well, you get what you pay for.

11 months laready! wow! Your kid is cute for sure. I'd be bragging, too. :)
Happy 11 months to Ace!
AWWW! That is too sweet. Such a cutie!
that is hilarious!
Good for Ace, eating his grits. When he turns around and looks at the camera, that face is just too precious!
You've taught that boy right, Stacey. Grits go with salt and butter. I have a coworker here who eats grits with sugar. SUGAR! Can you believe that? These Virginians are really damned weird with food. Of course, you should see what they do with Creole/Cajun food: red beans/etoufee over RICE PILAF! PoBoys on a "french roll" with Remoulade instead of mayo. Remoulade is a dipping sauce, dammit. Ich... There are a few places near my job that serve supposed Creole/Cajun food and none of it is right. Gets me all fired up!
