It has come to my attention that due to my recent difficulties and my graphic descriptions thereof, some of my female readers of child-bearing age are becoming averse to c-sections, or worse, having children.
Sorry 'bout that.
The c-section didn't hurt. The contractions hurt, the epidural hurt (but ohhhh, was it worth it), and the little pushing I did to try to shove Ace down the canal hurt. The incision hurt some in the following days, but honestly, no worse than the laparoscopy I had back in September. If it weren't for this !$^!@& hematoma, I'm telling you, I'd have been back to 100% a week after the surgery. We were worried about my baby - unacceptable. He was getting all tired in there from all the contracting, and we needed him out quickly. I felt no pain. It was pretty neat, feeling the pressure of the doctor and nurses pulling Ace out of me. I could actually feel him wiggling while they were pulling on him. However, I was relaxed, I was calm, I was happy knowing that in a few short minutes, my baby would be much safer than he was while he was in my uterus.
In the end, I'm happy I had the c-section. Very happy. It was the safest mode of passage to the outside world for Ace, and I'm glad we have the technology available to us to keep our unborn children safe. Yes, I've had a relatively minor complication made fifty-eleven times worse by a wound-vac, but I definitely wouldn't mind having a c-section again, and would describe my experience as a positive one to anyone concerned about having a c-section.
I hope that, if nothing else, I've talked everyone out of wound-vacs. My readership skyrocketed after I had Ace, and my sincere hope is that none of the 70-something people that come here on any given day are ever suckered into a wound-vac. So, get pregnant (unless you, like, shouldn't), get the epidural, get the c-section, DON'T GET THE WOUND-VAC.

Well, you've convinced me. I'll start trying to get pregnant tommorrow.
Yay! I look forward to welcoming my little niece or nephew. Relax, and it'll happen for you, Rob!
Yeah, Stacey. I was just about to get pregnant when I read your blog. Now, I've sworn off children forever... ::sob:: NOT! Okay, so can't have kids in the living in my uterus for 9 months kind of way, but I'm seriously considering the step-kids as you know. If that doesn't work out, I'll get some woman pregnant eventually.
