How about that curve ball?

Drew here. Just when we think that Stacey is going to have to settle into her hospital room for the next five weeks, the exact opposite happens. Yesterday afternoon she started feeling contractions. When the nurses couldn't stop them with sedatives, the doctor came in to check her. Guess what she found? Stacey dilated 4 centimeters that's what. The decision was made then and there to deliver the baby. She was given some stuff to make her contractions stronger and the anesthesiologist stopped by to give her an epidural. After that it was a waiting game: the clock versus the cervix. As it was getting late, I decided to make something happen by starting a new book. By 9 PM she had only dilated to 6 centimeters. Did I mention that she'd been running a fever all day? The doctor didn't like that, or the amount of time it was taking to dilate, and was concerned about the baby tiring out from the ordeal, so she decided it was time for a c-section. Off we go to the operating room. And this is what happened at 9:46 PM, June 4th, 2006:

Edited to add: He weighed 3 pounds even, measured in at 15 and a half inches, and his name is Andrew Clarence Spiehler IV, or Ace for short. I (Stacey) am sorry if I haven't called you, but I've had visitors most of the day and when I didn't have visitors I was sleeping. I'll be doing quite a bit of calling around tomorrow though, I promise!
