Drew and I went out to a restaurant for supper tonight. The tables at this restaurant are situated in such a way that makes it very hard for people-watchers like me to control themselves. Two teenaged boys, a teenaged girl, and a middle-aged woman sat at a table very close to us. About halfway through our meal, the teenaged boy and girl decide to smooch each other. These kids were no more than 13, if that. Shortly thereafter, they were all over each other, hugging, whispering in ears, giggling, and a few more smooches on the cheek.
Does anyone else find this wildly inappropriate? I had smooched a few boys by the time I was 13, but never in front of either of my parents. Shoot, I don't even think I kissed Drew in front of my mom until we were married, and even then it's just a hello or a goodbye, never a display of intimate affection.
Brazen, I tell you. Brazen.

i am a big old prude (I have changed since I was young, I know). I am all for freedom of expression, but there is a difference between teeth marks on your partner's tonsil and a goodbye peck. I am so freaking tired of seeeing anyone make out in public.
That said, I did make the mistake of kissing people back in the day in front of adults, but I don't recall anything coming close to a makeout kiss.
I am also a big old prude now - scandalized by anyone baring their belly ringed midriff or showing their thong from the top of their jeans - and I have to say that I remember smooching pretty heavily when I was a teenager, but almost never in the presence of adults.
This is all I have to say: if you need someone to clean your wisdom teeth, see a dentist, not your girlfriend. Gross.
