I am horrified by this. These poor dogs are killed by the hundreds and their owners, who are ultimately responsible for the behavior of the dogs, probably get off with a ticket.
Imagine, your lab, your Rottweiler, your dachsund, banned by your city and if you don't move, your dog dies.
Guns would be blazing before someone could cart my kitties off, you are darn tootin'.
Ohhh, there's very little else I can say right now... In with the good air, out with the SCREW YOU, DENVER!

How the h-e-l-l can that be legal? It seems to me that there's gotta be a good reason to kill an animal other than their breed. Going to hell in a handbasket...
You can't even pass through Denver with a pitbull in the back of your truck... same thing in San Fran (they have a similiar pitbull ban).
The pro-pitbull-owning argument is kinda like some pro-gun-owning arguments-- pitbulls don't kill people, people that train their pitbulls to kill do.
Luckily, it'll be a while before Fernley and New York outlaw poodles (phew!)

I totally agree - it's ridiculous to ban according to breed. Animals shouldn't be punished for the stupidity of their owners. You and I would both be moving with cats and dogs in tow!
I don't know if you would feel the same way if one of your loved ones was killed by a pitbull. It's easy to judge when you are on the other side of the fence.
You make it sound like the gestapo is coming to kill your gentle pets. Pitbulls have proven to be a dangerous breed, unlike your kittens. If a community bans them, yet people continue to own them, I suppose killing is a harsh sentence. Owning a horse in my backyard is not legal, and I would hope that the city of Kenner wouldn't kill my horse should I want to keep one in my backyard.
However, if I kept pet mountain lions in my backyard (which are known to attack and kill people and small animals), and they were banned by the authorities, I guess I could not complain if my pet mountain lions were killed by the authorities who prohibited my keeping them. I guess this comes under the same stereotyping as Muslim suicide bombers?
Too bad everyone can't just be nice :)
