I just caught the first episode in the 16th season of The Real World. This season, it's set in Austin. On this season, there's everything from a carpenter to a hairdresser. A woman of loose social mores to an Iraq veteran. A social worker and a frat boy. Oh, and the socially conscious African American man.
Remember when there were people you could look up to on The Real World? Jon? Pedro? Judd? These are the people I grew up watching and I don't know if I'm looking at the show from a different, more mature perspective, but it seems like the cast members get less mature each year. Is that the case, or am I just getting older?
It seems to me that people in certain professions would carry themselves in a more respectful manner than these people have done. For example, the Iraq veteran was making out with another woman in the hot tub within 20 minutes after the show started. I mean, come on. Act like you have more respect for yourself, and the organization you've chosen to represent, than that.

Should we judge those that put their life on the lines for this country?
:P

It just seems to me that if you have chosen to represent an organization which commands respect from the country that you will act respectably.

It was immature then, and it's immature now. I think I'm more lamenting the fact that the cast has gotten progressively more immature and less respectable. I grew up with Real World cast members who were admirable. I guess I'm just getting old.

I doubt Ronnie has a blog.
If I had been in Iraq for a year, came home and got in a hot tub and some hot girl got in with me...
I think making out with her would be pretty subtle to what I'd try.
