In a Newburgh state of mind

Tomorrow, Drew and I are driving up to Indiana to see my little cousin Kyla get married. I'm proud of her - he's a solid dude. Of course, I think I'd pretty much approve of anyone who has the chutzpah to deal with my dad and uncles. They're a little difficult to handle. For example, my uncles spent a couple of minutes playing with my husband's nipples the last time we saw them. While my dad stayed away from that fun, the first time he ever spoke to my husband, spent about 20 minutes telling him jokes which implied that Drew had a lack of... stature, shall we say? Every time my dad and uncles get together, they just act like they haven't aged in 30 years. I remember saying the prayer before Thanksgiving dinner a LONG time ago and my aunt giving my dad and uncles the evil eye because they were all smacking each other. It's great.

And my dad has got to be the coolest uncle. He rented a white stretch limo and drove my cousin and all of her friends around until 5 in the morning for her bachelorette party last weekend. Hey, he's a pretty great dad too.

What's especially great is the fact that we all just love each other. We're all close, there's no animosity anywhere, nobody has beef with anyone else. We get together, we have fun, we catch up, and we smack each other. In love, of course.

Lots of errands to run. See you next week!
