As much as I know it'll rip your heart out, I think The Spiehler Spot is seeing its last days. It's too much of a pain to update, archive, navigate, etc. Drew and I are considering dumping it altogether. Besides, now that I have a blog, I can update from wherever I darn tootin' please. There's been so much I've wanted to tell everyone, but I've been working and I sure couldn't update from work and by the time I get home I don't feel creative or interesting anymore. Kinda like right now.
So I'll start off my new blog with a meme from my Cousin Nina. (Side note: What is a "meme?" In French, it means "same" or "even." In my house, it's what we call my grandma. Prounounced MeeMee.)
That Book Meme
You're stuck inside Farenheit 451, which book do you want to be?
(By the way, this means which book would I want to be in someone's memory, not which book do I want to be burning in the bowels of a roaring fire.)
I'd probably like to be The Bible. Everyone should memorize that. Wish I could.
Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?
I don't think that I have. I had SOOOO many crushes on real boys (no, seriously, ask my stepmom) that I didn't really have the attention span for fictional dudes.
The last book you bought is:
Can't remember. It was probably a Dean Koontz book. I don't buy a lot of books. I'm a library girl. (Translation: I am CHEAP!)
The last book you read:
The Good Earth. My mom saw it on Oprah and really wanted to read it, and since I know everyone else has read it, I had to read it too.
What are you currently reading?
Drew and I are soldiering through The One Year Bible and doing an okay job of keeping on task, if I may say so myself. I'm also reading a Dean Koontz book and a learn-Italian-in-thismany-days book.
Five books you would take to a deserted island:
The Holy Bible
A big fat concordance and/or a big fat Bible study book - no time like the present, right?
A book on survival (good idea, Nina)
A Wrinkle in Time
One Child
Who are you going to pass this stick to (3 persons) and why?
My stepmom, because if ever there was an avid reader, it's HER.
Cristi, because she's interesting
Angie, because she's interesting and I just know she's got all the time in the world to do this.
End of meme.
Most housewifey thing I did today: I shopped around for the perfect fabric for the curtains I'm going to sew for my kitchen. And I bought $60 worth of cosmetics.
