It occurred to me today that the IT department of any non-technologically based company has to be comprised of the most blessed people in the world.
When you are a temp, you have to try extra, extra hard to not screw up. A permanent employee has only herself to represent, but a temp has an entire company as well as herself to represent. I've been doing pretty well at my super-important job so far, but today I made a little oopsie that only IT could rescue me from. When the super nice woman fixed my oopsie, I made evident my relief and rewarded her with my undying gratitude and a hearty "God bless you." As I was hanging up the phone and trying to Pilates my stress of the situation out of my neck, I thought about how many people in the same company have spouted off a hearty "God bless you" to the nearest helpful IT worker.
Folks, thank your local IT professional today. Hug him or her if you feel the Spirit move you. If you see a group of them on the street, stop them and thank them for their service to this country.

On behalf of all the wonderful IT people in this country (or at least my circle of IT professionals), I thank You for noticing!
:-)
It can be a thankless job - if everything goes along perfectly fine, no one notices the IT Pro. As soon as the poop hits the fan though, who do they call?
They call IT Pro!
You're an angel! Hang in there with that temp job. That's not easy to do either, and you probably get as much thanks as the IT folks do (not a lot).
I'm getting a lot more love at this assignment than I did at my last one. Not that they were mean at my last one... they just didn't, well, talk to me. They talked around me. The people here (and these are VERY important people) actually ask me if I want coffee from the coffee shop nearby if they're going. They're giving me lots of fun free stuff.
And thank YOU, for everything you do. :)
